How Does Neuromodulation Work?
Understanding
Neuromodulation.
Neuromodulation encompasses peripheral nerve and spinal cord stimulation, and dorsal root ganglion stimulation, treatments that offer hope for individuals struggling with acute and chronic pain who may feel they have no alternatives. By using electrical signals that are uniquely adjusted to the patient’s pain physiology to “modulate” (to change) the patient’s nerve pain, neuromodulation treats the source of the pain directly, enhancing functional mobility while simultaneously decreasing the need for medication.
